How to Navigate This Site

This page explains how AMT Gridiron is structured and how to move between its main sections and extras pages.

Overall site structure

AMT Gridiron is organised into a small number of main pages, plus a set of extras pages for specific projects. The homepage introduces the project and links into the core sections; from there you can move into deeper content or out to standalone extras.

• Main pages: core AMT Gridiron content and history.
• Extras pages: Interception Card Game, Super Bowl Ride, About Me, and other side projects.
• Consistent navigation: the same navigation bar appears on every page.

Recent Updates

Updates for important news - like schedule changes, new seasons, or major announcements - can now be found in the "Update" banner on the relevant page and no longer on the home page which became into affect on 26 August 2028.

The reason for the Recent Updates on the home page being dropped, was primarily because updates were more sporadic and it made sense to host thes eon the individual league page. Updates are only present for Active leagues including Championships and the BFL. Defunct Leagues, due to their very nature, do not have updates.

As such, there is no archive for updates.

Using the navigation bar

The navigation bar is shared across the site and is loaded once using an embedded navigation file. When it is updated, every page that uses it is updated automatically.

• Top-level links: take you to the main AMT Gridiron pages.
• Extras links: take you to standalone pages such as Interception and Super Bowl Ride.
• Current page: the page you are on may be highlighted, depending on your browser and CSS support.

Page layout and section links

Longer pages are divided into clearly labelled sections. Many of these sections can be reached directly using internal links (also called anchors).

• Section headings: each major block of content has a heading (for example, “History” or “Teams”).
• Anchor links: some links may point to a specific section, such as #about or #history.
• Scrolling: following an internal link will scroll the page directly to that section.

Menu buttons

All sites include menu buttons to direct you to other pages which are either sub-pages or related pages.

Pages will be divided as follows:

• Home page: represented by a logo and coloured link banner
• Teams: includes sub-pages for conferences/divisions, further sub-divided into divisions.
• Rules
• Seasons: includes a navigation table of anchor links to individual season playoffs and notes. This page will also include:
  • Playoffs: either a separate page for Active leagues (i.e. CFL) or within the Home page (i.e. NFL Europa) via anchor links.
  • Standings: BFL only.
  • BFL Draft: BFL only.
  • League Championship: includes changes in the name of the championship or a separaate sub-page to its predecessor Championship if this was fully replaced.

Team sites

Each league has its own main site which is the anchor for all of its pages.

• Active Leagues: Individual pages for the Home page, Teams (including divisions/conferences), Rules and Seasons (including Playoffs and the League Championship).
• BFL (Concept League): Individual pages for the Home page, Teams (including divisions/conferences), Rules (includes BFL Draft) and Seasons (including the Playoffs and the BFL Bowl and Standings).
• College Football Playoff (Championships): One page that includes the Seasons, Playoff Rounds, and National Championship with no Teams page.
• GFL Bowl and GFL2 Bowl (Championships): One page that includes the Current Season, Playoff Rules, and League Championship with no Teams page.
• Defunct Leagues: One page that includes the Teams (including divisions/conferences), History, Seasons and Playoffs including League Championship.

Navigation menus are used so you can find historical results.

Leagues Hub

This page can be accessed from the link in the Header that can be found on every page and is a white link box with black text.

This represents all leagues covered by AMT Gridiron and are split into Active and Defunct with British Football League under Concept under both GFL Bowl and College Football Playoff under Championships.

Breadcrumnb links on each page will reference either Active, Concept, Defunct or Championship and will direct to the Leagues Hub page.

Back to Top buttons

On longer pages you will see “Back to Top” buttons or links near the end of sections. These are provided so you can quickly return to the top of the page without manually scrolling.

• Location: usually placed at the bottom of a long section or at the end of the page.
• Behaviour: clicking the button scrolls back to the top of the current page.
• Use case: especially useful on mobile devices or when reading long historical timelines.

Extras pages

Some content lives on its own dedicated page rather than inside the main AMT Gridiron flow. These are labelled as extras and are linked from the navigation bar and from relevant sections of the main site.

• Interception Card Game: rules, card lists, and background for the custom card game.
• Super Bowl Ride: a standalone experience with its own structure and navigation.
• About Me: personal background and context for the project.

When you follow a link to an extras page, you can always return to the main site using the navigation bar or the homepage link on that page.

Quick tips

• Lost? Use the navigation bar to jump back to the homepage or a main section.
• On a long page? Use “Back to Top” to reset your position.
• Looking for a project? Check the extras links in the navigation bar.
