UNITED FOOTBALL LEAGUE began in 2009 with 4 teams based in California Redwoods (San Francisco), Florida Tuskers (Orlando), Las Vegas Locomotives (shortened to Locos) and New York Sentinels. However, due to extensive financial problems and dismal attendance figures the league ended part way through its 2012 season.
