XFL (2023)
XFL (2023) was the third incarnation of the league, following its original season in 2001 and the shortened reboot in 2020, which ended early due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
The 2023 XFL featured eight teams, including five returning markets from 2020 and three relocated franchises in Las Vegas, Orlando, and San Antonio.
Las Vegas and Orlando previously hosted teams during the 2001 season, while San Antonio had fielded a team in the Alliance of American Football (AAF) in 2019, another league that completed only part of its schedule.
The 2023 season ran from February to April, with each team playing a ten‑game regular season and four advancing to the playoffs to determine the champion. After the season, the league merged with the USFL (2022–2023) to form the United Football League for the 2024 season.
