Pittsburgh Steelers were founded in 1933 and are the seventh oldest NFL franchise and oldest in the AFC. Prior to the AFL-NFL merger in 1970, they were the oldest franchise without a league championship and since 1970 are amongst the most successful NFL franchises.
They won 6 Super Bowls (IX,X,XIII,XIV,XL,XLIII) that is tied with the New England Patriots.
