European Football Alliance (EFA), split off from the European League of Football (ELF) which was founded in 2021, where all teams were centrally managed by ELF GmbH, which was majority-controlled by CEO Karajica.
After the 2025 European League of Football season, EFA formed where its teams wanted more financial control and transparency, and follow the franchise model of the NFL.
It played its first season in 2026, made up of six teams in one single division and is to expand for the 2027 season with the addition of the London Guard. Teams are based in Austria, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany and United Kingdom (2027). Madrid Bravos, initially announced as a team for the 2026 season, withdrew on March 10, 2026.
The teams playe a schedule made up 10 games across 13 weeks. Top four teams qualify for the Semi-Finals, named BIG4, and the winners play in the EFA Championship Game.
