| UNITED FOOTBALL LEAGUE |  |
The United Football League (UFL) is a professional American football high-level minor league which started play in March 2024. It was created following the merger of the latest incarnations of the XFL and United States Football League (USFL). It consists of eight teams, all of which were members of the XFL or USFL prior to the UFL's creation, concentrated in the Midwest and Southern United States.
Each team plays a ten-game schedule with no bye weeks, playing two games against each conference rival (one home and one away) and one game against each team in the other conference.

UFL will have three new teams in 2026, the league's third year: Columbus Aviators, Louisville Kings, and Orlando Storm. These will replace the Michigan Panthers, Memphis Showboats, and San Antonio Brahmas. Two other teams will change names: the Houston Roughnecks will become the Houston Gamblers, and the Arlington Renegades will become the Dallas Renegades.
Other cities mentioned in early reports for expansion included Boise, Idaho and Lexington, Kentucky but they either denied having heard from the league or stated they could not host games in 2026.
Conferences have been abolished to be a league of 8 teams with no divisions.
Playoffs have also been adjusted to be played by the top 4 in the league with the winners playing in the UFL Chmapionship Game.
New team helmets are being introduced for the 2026 UFL Season.

The UFL retains retainer agreements with the XFL's Seattle Sea Dragons (Lumen Field) and Orlando Guardians (Camping World Stadium) but used the Orlando Storm instead and based at the Inter&Co Stadium.
Though the UFL had initially planned to expand to 10 teams for 2026, League Commissioner Repole chose instead to keep the league at eight teams for 2026, with the intention to delay expansion to 2028 and have a 16-team league by 2035. So watch this space for more updates.
