Manchester Demons, Scottish Claymores, Tyneside Mariners and Yorkshire Vikings are the founding members of the BFL North Division in 2015, Caledonian Knights joined in 2019 and the Merseyside Centurions joined in 2021.

All teams have qualified for the playoffs with both the Claymores and Vikings appearing in the most with 4 appearances (as of 2020).

Tyneside Mariners had the longest active playoff drought of 4 seasons, having last appeared in 2015, until it was broken in 2020.
