1993 CFL SEASON
< 1992 1994 >

Sacramento Gold Miners became the first US team to play in the CFL and joined the West Division and first to be admitted to the league since the BC Lions joined in 1954.

The expansion meant the West Division had 4 playoffs teams whilst the East Division stayed with 3 teams.

Another US expansion team based out of San Antonio,TX (the San Antonio Riders, formerly of then then suspended WLAF, to play as the San Antonio Texans) wa sput on hold for the 1993 Season after the team folded instead.
